Blatently ignoring my Dr.'s advice for my tendonitis
I get cold easily, and Living in San Francisco that can be an issue. So I've been trying to find a pattern for fingerless gloves. I found these and I think I'm going to make them, probably shorter than the ones pictured. I will post pictures when they are done.

Life or something like it
I have been SUPER busy lately. I graduated college with a BA in Drama (Yay!!!!) I made parts of a couple of costumes for me and my boyfriend for the Renaissance Faire in Lake Tahoe. I attended said Renaissance Faire two weekends in a row, which was really taxing even if it was fun. Sun, heat, heavy clothing and altitude are really hard on me so I came home exhausted. Add to that the residual stress of the end of school and graduation, and the new stress of finding a job with a degree in theater and you get a very cranky Jessamy.
On top of all that, my boyfriend had some friends in town so I, as dutiful girlfriend, was helping him entertain them.
I have really not had time to craft or cook anything all that interesting, though last week I was able to make it to my parents' to relax a bit, hang out with the family and swim. The movie I'm in is still filming, my heart goes out to the director for all the schedule changes that have had to be made at the last minute.
Two of my friends have had their babies, and I have already met one of the babies. I'm so happy for all the parents who seem to be in awe of these new, tiny people.
My sewing machine is broken, my mom took it in to be fixed, and it came back working less than it was before. Hurrumph! So it's going back again. In the meantime though, if I want to sew I have to use my roomate's machine, which is a little bit twitchier than mine.
I'm job hunting. Does anyone know of any entry level office jobs in the San Francisco Bay Area? I would appreciate any and all leads. I can repay kindness with cookies or bread.
So that's my life right now, friends family and Futurama are getting me through it all.

DONE!
So I just finished taking my last final ever. I graduate on Saturday, I am thrilled to be done with school finally. On my way to take said final, my ipod played the end of the world as we know it, by REM, it was very fitting.
Needless to say I'm very pleased with myself, it's been a long road, but I did it.
Now I get to start entering the world of actual adulthood, things like getting a job and paying my own bills. I am nervous but excited.

Primary sources
So I just turned in my last ever long research paper, and I must say I'm pretty damn proud of myself. I wrote about the relationship between religion, politics, and propaganda in England During the Wars of the Roses. One of my secret pleasures is researching. I love doing it, and I LOVE coalescing all my research into a coherent argument, but the one drawback of doing this in the hallowed halls of academia is the deadlines, usually coinciding with a bunch of other projects. I have been SO busy lately, my brain is actually full. I am however happy, because I got my paper done, it was admittedly a little short, but I know I could have talked for reams of paper about my subject if given the chance. I just knew that if I allowed myself to expand I wouldn't be able to stop.
In terms of projects and stuff, I'm not out of the woods next, but thankfully everything I have left is creative and studying for finals. I think it's going to be a busy week.

Earth Day!
Well, happy Earth Day everyone! I did not do anything FOR Earth Day, but I plan on continuing to recycle. I am also planning on trying to eat more locally, in order to make my carbon footprint smaller. Today I just went to class and took notes on paper. Not very planet friendly, but I hate typing my notes for class. So this class is really interesting, it is all about Vampires in literature and pop culture. So Far we've read Dracula, and some Keats and Byron, to name a few, and we've been watching Buffy, and today we watched parts of The Hunger (1983) with David Bowie, Susan Sarandon, and Catherine Denevue. Pretty cool.
Oh I almost forget, I got a role in a short film that a friend of mine wrote. I auditioned and everything, so YAY!!!

Stuff- I've been a busy, busy bee
I know it's been a long while since my last post. I've been really busy with life, sewing, cooking, and doing nerdy and life things. I went to Wondercon in San Francisco which was a blast. I met and shook hands with Adam Baldwin, the guy who played Jayne on Firefly, it was really cool and I managed not to make a fangirl mess of myself.
I made progress on my corset, and made a steampunk vest, which turned out really nice. I'm very proud of it. I've been cooking a lot, and making up new dishes, adding them to my repertoire.
My social calendar has been really full, with birthdays and out of town visitors. To top that all off, my boyfriend and I just celebrated our three year anniversary with a trip to Solvang California, the Danish village near Santa Barbara. We ate really well and even went wine tasting at The Wandering Dog wine bar, tons of fun.
So I've been busy to say the least, and add into that school, my application for graduation has been preliminarily approved (YAY!) I just have to pass one class for my major. I honestly don't know when I will have time to relax on my own, but I do have a whole bunch of stuff lined up with friends.
Last but not least, my boyfriend and my roommate just launched their webcomic (you go guys) check it out.
I also promise pictures soon, but right now it's too busy.

Rum!
So last night I really wanted a rummy drink. There was no coke or root beer in sight so I improvised. It turned out quite yummy and as it was a rum based drink I gave it a pirate worthy name.
I give you The Murky Waters
1 1/2 Shots DARK rum
2 shots Orange Juice
1/2 Can Sprite or similar
Pour all over Ice (preferably the skull and crossbones ice cubes) in a tall glass and stir
Say YARRR! and enjoy
